We are fortunate to have wild woodlands with an abundance of birds and small mammals. Shy bushbuck graze here, while countless bird species find safety to feed, drink, and nest. We created The Woodlands for birders who want peace and quiet to sit among the trees and observe, but it’s proved so popular that we have opened it to those wanting that special wilderness feeling without sacrificing comfort and luxury. There’s a central lounge, outside seating area and bar in the Woodland gardens. The Waterberry restaurant, sun decks and swimming pool, all used by Woodlanders, are a short walk down sandy paths. Guests have 24 hour service from a butler/groundsman/guard. At night, the wild comes close. You don’t leave your tent at night in case you inadvertently meet Mr & Mrs Hippo grazing your personal lawn – their footprints a reminder, come morning, of how close they were.
